Seacroft Park is situated on the Furness Peninsula only seven miles from the historic market town of Ulverston and barely 20 minutes from the southern Lake District.

There's always something fascinating going on in the streets of Ulverston, whether it is Flag Fortnight, the Lantern Procession or an Easter Bonnet Parade. This festival capital of Furness combines special events with an assortment of specialist shops, cosy pubs, traditional markets and cultural hotspots. Add in the colourfully rendered houses, cobbled streets and inviting side alleys and there's enough of interest to keep you enthralled for days.

Surrounding the town is the gently rolling farmland of the Furness Peninsula while the coastline provides beautiful vistas over Morecambe Bay. The traditional ship building town of Barrow In Furness is well worth a visit with many major stores located in the shopping area. The Dock museum is a spectacular modern museum built over an original Victorian Graving Dock, where you can explore the fascinating history of Barrow-in-Furness.

Walney Island is reached by a bridge from Barrow Docks. It is a 10 mile long island, reputedly the windiest lowland site in Britain, containing two important Nature Reserves. The North Nature Reserve has an area for preserving Britain's rarest amphibian, the Natterjack Toad. Over 130 species of bird have also been recorded there. The South Nature Reserve has the largest nesting ground of Herring Gulls and Lesser Black Backed Gulls in Europe.

Between Walney Island and Barrow is the tiny Piel Island, on which is Piel Castle built by the monks of Furness Abbey to protect their harbour from the Scots. It can be reached by a ferry from Roa Island only a few miles away from Seacroft.

Within 20 minutes from the park is the southern lake district, Lake Windermere & Coniston Water, Seacroft is really in an enviable location to benefit not only from its fantastic location on the coast but also the beautiful scenery that is part of the Lake District. The traditional Lake District villages of Bowness, Windermere and Coniston are within easy reach and well worth a visit. For the energetic, the Lake District has some outstanding trails and hills and fells to enjoy and walk over.

Also nearby is the village of Cartmel, this is truly idyllic with a picturesque market square (complete with fish slabs) surrounded by a delightful assortment of genuine olde-worlde buildings including inns, shops and private dwellings. Ancient streets wend their way from the square with quiet flower-filled corners, delightful streamside walks, hump-backed bridges and cobbled pavements. The ancient village of Cartmel is famous for the 12thC Cartmel Priory with its beautiful stained glass windows, modern sculptures, and ancient choir stalls.
